A LeanKit Case Study
The LateRooms Group (TLRG), a division of TUI Travel and an international online accommodation specialist serving over 2 million customers with 65,000+ properties, needed to coordinate a 150-person IT organization of ten cross-functional product teams distributed across the UK, Brazil and supplier locations in India and Eastern Europe. As the company grew, its original approach—physical whiteboards with duplicated electronic records—no longer scaled, making it hard for remote teams to collaborate, track work across time zones, and gain portfolio-level visibility.
TLRG adopted LeanKit as a visual management tool and made it the standard for managing work and workflow. Teams use LeanKit as a single source of truth for planning, delivery, standups and retrospectives (including WIP limits), while leadership uses portfolio boards and daily portfolio standups for high-level oversight. The change improved visibility and alignment across teams, reduced the risk of projects going off-track, and enabled better collaboration and continuous improvement, with plans to integrate LeanKit data into enterprise reporting.
