PlayPack, an international casual game studio, needed a user-friendly AI tool to integrate into their art pipeline to generate consistent, production-ready assets for its live service games like Greentown, Merge Away, and Cozy Lane. The challenge was to find a solution that was quick to learn and could reliably support their unique art styles without overburdening their small team of artists. They turned to the vendor Layer to find a gen-AI solution.
By using Layer, PlayPack created a custom model to generate initial drafts and hundreds of assets, including characters and UI elements. This solution drastically reduced the artists' workload, allowing them to focus on creative refinement and overpainting instead of starting from scratch. The vendor Layer enabled the studio to create over 200 production-ready assets, streamline their content pipeline, and support three live games more efficiently with a faster, higher-quality output.
