LBC Studios, an independent mobile gaming studio, faced the challenge of creating a large volume of new characters, environments, and assets for their new game Shroomtopia without sacrificing their unique hand-drawn art style or overworking their team. They turned to the vendor Layer and its FLUX AI model to scale their art production pipelines efficiently and avoid crunch.
By using Layer to train custom AI models on their existing art, LBC generated stylized characters, environmental assets like trees and buildings, and various mushrooms. This solution saved the studio an estimated 300+ hours in production, increased their productivity by 8x, and allowed them to maintain full creative control and their signature aesthetic. Layer enabled the team to focus more on innovation and gameplay design while rapidly populating the game's world with high-quality assets.
