Cisco launches secure virtual healthcare appointments with Launchcode

Cisco, in partnership with Ignite Technologies for the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (NLCHI), faced a challenge in simplifying online doctor consultations. The province had a low ratio of doctors to patients and a large rural population, which was compounded by the Covid-19 pandemic. NLCHI needed a secure, accessible, and easy-to-use video consultation solution that would leverage its existing relationship with Cisco and address major privacy concerns. They engaged the vendor Launchcode to develop this solution.

Launchcode developed Enjoyn, a secure virtual healthcare appointment app built around Cisco's Webex platform. The solution featured easy scheduling, a privacy-focused design that hid user email addresses, and was accessible across devices and even on low-bandwidth networks. The results were a highly intuitive application that was successfully adopted. It is expected to improve healthcare accessibility, reduce patient no-shows, and boost staff efficiency. The application was so well-received that both Cisco and Ignite sales teams have adopted Enjoyn as an add-on product to the Webex platform.
