Case Study: Athlete FA achieves faster, more accurate semiconductor manufacturing with Lattice Technology's XVL

A Lattice Technology Case Study

Preview of the Athlete FA Case Study

Using 3D Data In Semiconductor Manufacturing - Process Innovation Begins with XVL

Athlete FA Corporation, a Nagano-based semiconductor equipment manufacturer for the automotive industry, needed a better way to use 3D CAD data beyond design. After introducing 3D CAD in 2007, the company found that production, assembly, and documentation teams were still working in 2D, creating workflow issues, slowing designers, and making it difficult to share complex models across departments.

To solve this, Athlete FA adopted Lattice Technology’s XVL format and applications, including XVL Studio Pro, Lattice3D Reporter, and later Vmech, to compress, view, simulate, animate, and document 3D data for downstream teams. Lattice Technology helped Athlete FA reduce a 470 MB CAD model to 2.79 MB, enable shop-floor use of digital work instructions, identify more than 80% of design issues before physical prototyping, and improve design quality, manufacturing speed, and accuracy.
