A Lattice Technology Case Study
Mitsubishi Agricultural Machinery, part of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Group, needed to speed up product development and improve assembly work instructions in a rapidly changing market. The company wanted to move from a sequential workflow to concurrent engineering, while also making it easier to pass assembly know-how from experienced engineers to newer staff. To address this challenge, Mitsubishi turned to Lattice Technology and its ultra-lightweight XVL 3D data format and XVL Studio authoring tool.
Lattice Technology implemented XVL Studio and Excel-based 3D work instruction distribution so Mitsubishi could digitally create, verify, and share assembly processes directly from 3D design data. This enabled engineers to simulate tooling, jigs, and assembly steps earlier in the design cycle, identify issues before production, and improve collaboration between design and manufacturing. The result was a dramatic change in workflow and reduced lead time from design to production, helping Mitsubishi bring new products to market faster.
