Hekuma, a global market leader in automation systems for injection moulding machines, needed a faster, more efficient way to create machine-specific spare parts catalogues with integrated 3D illustrations for service technicians and customers. After evaluating several options, the company chose Lattice Technology’s XVL technology together with Docware’s PARTS-PUBLISHER for automated catalogue production.

Lattice Technology’s XVL Converter and XVL Studio were used to convert Inventor 3D data into compact XVL files and create interactive exploded views, which were then integrated into PARTS-PUBLISHER’s catalogue workflow. The result was a highly usable 3D spare parts catalogue on CD with no installation required, improved clarity and information content, and strong user feedback; one measurable gain was file compression from 18 MB to 317 KB in 54 seconds, enabling efficient cross-media publishing.
