St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute - Customer Case Study

St. Anna Children’s Cancer Research Institute, a leading pediatric cancer research center in Vienna, faced a growing challenge as researchers frequently worked remotely, traveled to conferences, and juggled many logins — often on personal devices — creating risks for sensitive patient data and burdening IT. To address usability and security concerns, the institute selected LastPass, LogMeIn’s identity and password management solution, to simplify password management and raise security awareness.

LastPass delivered a web-based, cross-platform password manager that was easy to adopt and integrate, reducing the help-desk burden and increasing overall security while giving researchers the flexibility to work remotely and securely. According to IT leadership, LastPass led to significantly fewer support queries, higher staff acceptance (including non-technical users), and allowed researchers to focus on their core mission rather than password hassles.
