SMA Technologies, founded by a team of automation experts from NASA and serving over 600 clients with its OpCon platform, needed to uphold ISO 27001 security standards while managing growing cloud-based access. Because teams were sharing passwords and users faced an increasing number of logins, SMA required a secure way to share credentials and reduce the number of passwords employees must manage. They turned to LastPass single sign-on and password management.

LastPass implemented SSO so users authenticate once to access many cloud apps and provided password management plus shared folders to secure credentials excluded from SSO and simplify provisioning/deprovisioning. The result was a single, comprehensive access solution that streamlined global IT support, significantly reduced password-related ticket requests, and made it easy for users to securely access apps from any device — freeing SMA’s IT team to focus on higher‑value projects.
