Metcor Environmental, a leading UK commercial drainage, plumbing and pump engineering firm, faced a challenge sharing access to up to twenty customer portals with many users without overburdening portal bandwidth or compromising security. Giusseppe Ofori, IT Engineer at Metcor Environmental, evaluated LastPass and its LastPass Business features after finding one-to-one password sharing impractical and sought a safe, collaborative way to provision and manage portal access.

Metcor implemented LastPass (LastPass Business) to provide Shared Folders, password sharing, federated Microsoft integration and Active Directory provisioning, allowing robust, regularly rotated credentials, customized permissions and hidden passwords per user or folder. The LastPass solution simplified onboarding, supported their hybrid workforce, gave Giusseppe transparent reporting to trace access, reduced insecure password sharing and — according to Giusseppe — led to significantly fewer password reset requests and improved overall security.
