DCD Group, a South African engineering company with 12 business units across rail, mining & energy, marine and defence, needed to eliminate administrative lag and unify fragmented, paper-based processes. HR faced huge seasonal fluctuations in contract staff (300–2,500 at a time, 2,000–5,000 contracts a year), purchase requisitions were manual and error-prone, and project data packs created costly version‑control and storage challenges.

DCD deployed Laserfiche enterprise-wide, integrating it with the Scubed HCM system and using Laserfiche Forms and Workflow to automate onboarding, folder creation, approvals and document check-in/out. The result: onboarding time fell from 45 to 15 minutes, at least $150,000 saved annually and a 50% reduction in administrative work; purchase requisitions save about 15 minutes each, records are digitized and secure, and cross-department efficiency and compliance have significantly improved.
