A Laserfiche Case Study
Texas A&M University System, one of the largest U.S. university systems, faced a major document‑management challenge: individual campuses and departments had deployed separate electronic content management solutions that reduced paper use locally but didn’t deliver system‑wide efficiencies, shareable workflows, or centralized support. The central IT and procurement offices set out to break down silos, avoid redundant software/hardware purchases, and provide a consistent, compliant records framework across all member institutions.
In 2010 the system selected Laserfiche as its shared enterprise content management platform and implemented it as a centrally supported shared service, enabling document and workflow sharing, consolidated IT maintenance, disaster recovery, and remote access. The rollout—now used by about 1,600 users across multiple campuses—streamlined contract and records processing, improved compliance and business continuity, reduced printing and physical storage, and produced multimillion‑dollar system‑wide savings.
