Submit New Course Proposals with Laserfiche Forms

Tarrant County College District (TCCD), one of Texas’s largest community college systems with nearly 55,000 credit students across five campuses, faced a bottleneck handling hundreds of new-course and course-change proposals each year. The legacy paper-driven “intent to propose” process relied on interoffice mail and manual routing, creating multi-day delays and a typical 10-day approval turnaround.

TCCD implemented a public Laserfiche Forms workflow that routes submissions electronically to the division dean, vice president of academic affairs, and director of program development, with email links that preserve form data for quick edits and automated status notifications and storage. The automation cut approval time from 10 days to about 15 minutes, gave instructors real-time visibility into status, and allowed resubmission without reentering data.
