A Laserfiche Case Study
The Papua New Guinea Department of Education partnered with Laserfiche to replace a paper-based, manual purchase requisition system that often took months—or up to a year—for approvals, risked lost or misfiled forms, and provided little visibility or follow-up for requesting officers. As a large, decentralized organization, the DOE needed a single, scalable solution to handle complex claim categories and varied workflows while improving accountability and transparency.
Using Laserfiche Forms and business process automation (with implementation support from Digitec ICT), the DOE digitized requisition submissions, automated routing, approvals, notifications and check issuance, and consolidated documents in a secure repository. The new system cut turnaround times dramatically (most requisitions now processed within two months and correspondence often within two weeks), increased process visibility and reporting, strengthened document security, and freed staff time to focus on improving education delivery across the country.
