Linn‑Benton Community College, one of Oregon’s largest community college systems serving more than 22,000 students, faced increasing strain on its Enrollment Services division as it processed roughly 15,000 applications a year. Transcript evaluations were slow and manual—taking six to eight weeks—with students often calling to confirm receipt or status, creating a clunky, inefficient experience for both staff and students.
By deploying Laserfiche to build an online transcript evaluation service, the college enabled instant transcript uploads, automatic assignment to reviewers, cross‑referencing with the Banner system, and automated student communications. The new workflow cut average review time from six weeks to one week, reduced phone inquiries, allowed staff workloads to be rebalanced in real time, and provided students with immediate, personalized instructions and clearer pathways to graduation.
