A Laserfiche Case Study
TN Americas, a division of AREVA Inc. and a leading U.S. supplier of nuclear dry storage solutions, relied on Laserfiche to archive critical design and regulatory documents but struggled with a fractured records process: inconsistent metadata entry, multiple copies and versions across folders, and weak governance across 332,000 documents, 200 users, and 560 weekly submissions. The lack of enforced naming standards, templates, and strict controls made records hard to find and created confusion.
TN Americas implemented a five‑step overhaul—documentation, design, planning, build/test, and rollout—streamlining metadata from 121 fields to 29, introducing Laserfiche Forms for unique document numbering and controlled submissions, migrating existing content to the new structure, reducing Active Directory groups from 24 to 6, and rolling out training and an IS request process. The result: only final versions are stored, records are consistently indexed and quickly retrievable, security is standardized, and users can trust they’re accessing the correct document.
