DCD Group, a manufacturer with divisions in rail, mining and energy, marine, and defense, must compile comprehensive “data packs” (often hundreds of pages) to certify its manufacturing processes. Keeping these documents current, in the correct sequence, and consolidated across multiple departments was difficult—revisions, duplicated copies, and physical deliveries of 5–50 boxes per project made the process an administrative nightmare.

DCD implemented Laserfiche Workflow: orders are scanned, the DCD Projects template and metadata are applied, and automated workflows assign project roles, numbers, folders, QA and buyers while tracking history. Version control, check-in/check-out, and a “Data Pack” tag with custom search ensure single, up-to-date copies; the result is far less administration, instant retrieval, and electronic client submission that saves paper and copying costs.
