A Laserfiche Case Study
The City of Rochester, MN (population ~110,000) was processing about 2,800 invoices a month through a manual, paper-heavy workflow tied to JD Edwards (JDE). Invoices were passed between employees for coding, approval and scanning, with records stored in cabinets and no formal retention, creating inefficiency, wasted space and slow payment cycles.
Rochester deployed Laserfiche Forms, Workflow, Records Management and a Laserfiche–JDE integration (direct DB writes and Café One/WebLink) so invoices are uploaded, routed for approval, stamped with approver/date, indexed with JDE document numbers and retained automatically. The result: faster, remote approvals, embedded invoice review, clear audit trails visible from the document, reduced physical storage, fewer duplicate errors and quicker invoice payments accessible directly from JDE.
