A Laserfiche Case Study
The City of Lakewood, CO faced inconsistent use of its Laserfiche document management system across many departments and divisions, with each group using the platform differently and lacking a central way to raise concerns or coordinate projects. This fragmentation made it hard to maintain consistent repository structures, naming conventions and to scale Laserfiche adoption city-wide.
To address this, Lakewood created a Digital Archive Group (DAG) made up of all Laserfiche administrators and selected managers to meet regularly, review projects, secure management buy‑in, set standards, and provide peer support. The DAG led to wider Laserfiche adoption, consistent folder structures and naming conventions that make documents easier to find, and new uses for the system (for example, managing active planning case files), while also serving as a model and advisor for other organizations.
