How the City of Greeley Automated License Renewals with Laserfiche

The City of Greeley, Colorado handled about 150 liquor license renewals a year, but the process was slow and manual because the City Clerk had to gather and collate feedback from multiple departments before sending applications to the state. Using Laserfiche and Laserfiche Workflow, the city needed a better way to manage paper applications, reviews, and approvals.

Laserfiche automated the renewal workflow by scanning applications into Laserfiche, routing review tasks to five departments, sending reminders for overdue actions, and then notifying the Attorney’s Office, hearing officer, and Deputy City Clerk for final review and signatures. As a result, license renewals were processed much faster, documents were easier to find in the proper Laserfiche folder, and the city plans to extend the same Laserfiche workflow to new license applications and ownership transfers.
