The City of Chubbuck, ID — a rapidly growing community of over 14,000 residents — needed to modernize cumbersome paper records processes that were slowing service and consuming staff time. Previously, citizens had to visit City Hall to complete paper request forms that were stamped, photocopied and manually routed; locating records and notifying requestors could take 72 hours to 10 days.
Using Laserfiche Forms and Workflow, Chubbuck moved public records requests online and automated routing to the City Clerk, who can search the centralized repository, redact documents, and deliver records by email, mail or pickup. The change cut processing time from up to ten days to under 24 hours, improved transparency with automated updates, reduced paper use, preserved institutional knowledge, and set the city on a path to full digital transformation (with payment integration planned next).
