A Laserfiche Case Study
The City of Aspen, CO turned to Laserfiche to address a slow, error-prone, paper-based election process for roughly 6,200 registered voters and multiple vote centers. Election judges had to search printed lists, call the county to verify registrations or changes, maintain 12 hand-written logs, and re-enter data—an unreliable system made worse by high residential turnover and multiple ballot submission methods.
By storing voter signature images and metadata in a Laserfiche repository and using workflows to parse county spreadsheets, scan ballot barcodes, and populate electronic forms at vote centers, Aspen automated check-ins, ballot tracking, and duplicate-ballot invalidation. The result: faster processing, fewer phone calls and paper logs, improved accuracy, and simpler, more reliable auditing of election results.
