MultiMed is a medical billing service that handles ambulance claims for many New York providers, processing critical pre-hospital care reports (PCRs) that arrive in about nine different formats via mail, fax, or electronically. The company needed to simplify and automate intake, routing, coding and client reporting while reducing manual data entry and ensuring timely access to documents for coders and clients.

MultiMed implemented Laserfiche: Import Agent scans and imports incoming PCRs into a centralized repository, Workflow routes documents to client folders and auto-populates metadata from the RescueNet system, and coders update statuses that trigger archival. A Laserfiche WebLink portal delivers custom client reports. The solution cut data-entry errors, provided on-demand client reporting, and enabled fast document retrieval.
