Meade County Rural Electric Co-Op (RECC) faced a challenge in efficiently processing automatic meter reading (AMR) service orders. Their original method of using Laserfiche Snapshot to capture data from their UPN billing system was a manual, time-intensive process, taking 5-10 minutes per order and creating a significant workload for billing staff. They turned to the Laserfiche Connector and Laserfiche Forms to find a solution.
Laserfiche provided an automated integration that extracts data directly from the UPN system. A Laserfiche Connector profile populates a PDF form template, and a subsequent workflow completes the process, which includes staff verification of AMR readings. This Laserfiche solution drastically reduced the time to process a service order from several minutes to under thirty seconds, saving an estimated 2.5 hours of labor per day and significantly improving staff efficiency by keeping their work within a single application.
