A Laserfiche Case Study
Meade County Rural Electric Co-Op, which serves more than 29,000 customers across five Kentucky counties, needed a way to streamline document search, scanning and form population without forcing employees to leave their UPN application. The challenge was to integrate Laserfiche so staff could quickly find and scan documents and generate customer forms from data already in UPN, reducing manual entry and application switching.
Meade County implemented Laserfiche Connector to run searches and start scanning workflows directly from UPN, and to launch a pre-populated Certificate of Deposit form that customers sign on site. The solution used Laserfiche Forms, CSS/JavaScript for layout, a database lookup for deposit amounts, tokenized URLs and small XML edits (to split account numbers and adjust the Connector icon). Searches return in about five seconds, employees stay within UPN, form completion is faster with fewer data-entry errors, and overall efficiency has improved.
