A Laserfiche Case Study
Meade County Rural Electric Co‑Op (RECC), which supplies electricity to more than 28,500 homes, farms and businesses across five Kentucky counties, faced time‑consuming, error‑prone document handling: employees spent 2–4 hours a day scanning paper forms and manually entering metadata for member applications, complaints and other documents, making retrieval and service slow and inconsistent.
By implementing Laserfiche Quick Fields, Workflow, Forms and Import Agent, Meade County RECC automated OCR extraction of account numbers, database lookups to populate template fields, electronic signature capture and automatic import of application files. Documents are routed to the correct folders, exceptions are flagged for correction, and complaint forms trigger targeted email notifications. The result: scanning and metadata entry that now take minutes instead of hours, more accurate searchable records, faster information retrieval and improved member service.
