A Laserfiche Case Study
Halquist Stone Company, founded in 1929, is one of Wisconsin’s largest suppliers of building and landscape stone with nine quarries plus operations in Phoenix and Las Vegas. The company faced a slow, paper‑based sales and production workflow: salespeople faxed four‑part orders, managers manually entered and routed jobs, CAD tickets were hand‑copied and delivered, and warehouse supervisors spent 2–4 hours daily updating spreadsheets. Orders were often delayed, lost or duplicated, and archived paper files were hard to retrieve.
Halquist automated the entire process with Laserfiche: sales orders entered on iPads are printed into Laserfiche Snapshot, Workflow splits orders by warehouse, creates folders and line‑item documents, routes CAD tickets and approvals, and uses electronic forms for production, dispatch and changes. The system gives real‑time visibility to sales and operations, eliminates much manual data entry and offsite filing, stops production on canceled orders immediately, and saves supervisors 2–4 hours daily; overall annual savings are reported at $123,235.
