Davie County, North Carolina (population ~41,000) moved from a paper-driven, manual contract approval process—where Word submittals and physical contracts were routed for signatures, often lost, delayed, or returned for corrections—to a need for better tracking, accountability and timely approvals.
The county implemented Laserfiche Forms and Workflow with DocuSign integration to automate routing, approvals, reminders and signature collection. Contracts are submitted via a form, routed through legal, finance and management (with escalations for missed reviews), sent for electronic signature, and automatically archived. The result: a clear, auditable workflow, faster approvals, fewer bottlenecks, centralized access to contracts, and reduced printing and storage costs.
