A Laserfiche Case Study
Collin County, Texas — a rapidly growing jurisdiction outside Dallas — was pursuing a countywide paperless initiative and needed to eliminate a time-consuming, paper-heavy stamping workflow. Outside entities delivered multiple physical copies of lengthy documents (often 100+ pages) that clerks had to stamp and initial page-by-page with a rubber stamp and pen, a process that could take hours per filing.
Using Laserfiche and the Laserfiche SDK, the county implemented a scanned-electronic stamping workflow: clerks scan one copy, then apply metadata-driven stamps (account number, page number, total pages, and clerk initials/date) via custom toolbar buttons; HTML stamp content is converted to TIFF in real time and burned into the document so it cannot be altered. The change saved hundreds of labor hours, ensured compliance with state rules, and made records easily accessible to staff and the public through a secure portal.
