College of the Desert, a California community college with 13,000 students, was struggling with paper-based enrollment and financial aid processes that forced commuter students to travel long distances, wait in long lines, and deal with lost or delayed documents. Laserfiche replaced 20 paper forms with online forms that students can complete, sign, and submit through a portal, while automatically routing requests, sending status updates, and attaching records to the student information system. The college also automated more than 50 processes, and admissions and financial services now process applications and petitions 40% faster.
