Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 (D93) serves nearly 12,000 students across 24 schools in eastern Idaho. The district handled about 100 public records requests a year, and a spike in requests after a new high school made meeting the state’s 10‑working‑day response requirement difficult with a paper‑based process that relied on the board clerk physically circulating forms and waiting for staff to be in the office.
D93 implemented Laserfiche Forms and Workflow to make the process fully electronic: requestors submit an online form, the clerk’s open date triggers the 10‑day deadline, stakeholders and department reps are automatically notified, documents are uploaded and stored in Laserfiche, and payment handling and audit trails are automated. The result is faster, more reliable fulfillment that isn’t dependent on staff presence, clearer communication with requestors, streamlined handling for the board clerk, and improved compliance and recordkeeping.
