Emirates National Oil Company - Customer Case Study

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) is a major UAE energy group, operating across supply, terminals, marketing, retail and exploration with more than 20 subsidiaries. One subsidiary, Emirates Petroleum Product Company (EPPCO), which serves fuel-card customers through 170 service stations, struggled with paper-based customer documents (about 300 new documents per day) scattered across desks and lacked a scanning-enabled ECM solution — SharePoint in use elsewhere didn’t meet the need and Arabic support was required.

ENOC implemented Laserfiche (after evaluating a GTS implementation) to scan, store and automate document approval and delivery, integrating with IVR, Oracle and RightFax so invoices and statements are generated, archived and sent automatically and workflows deliver documents on demand. The system expanded across HR, audit, procurement and executive offices via Laserfiche–SharePoint integration, delivering faster customer service, a full ROI in eight months, savings of about 6,000 staff hours/year (~US$240,000) and US$28,800/year in paper storage costs.
