A Laserfiche Case Study
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the county’s largest law enforcement agency with about 850 employees, faced a paper‑bound Human Resources process that consumed storage space, caused interdepartmental delays and lost forms, and made recruiting difficult—especially amid a nationwide shortage of officers and a 25‑page paper application that produced incomplete submissions and slow onboarding.
By implementing Laserfiche digital records management and workflow automation, the agency launched an online application, enabled paperless background checks and automated approvals, and integrated personnel data for faster, more accurate processing. Applications tripled (from about 50 to as many as 150 per month; 446 paper apps in 2012 vs. 1,305 in the first Laserfiche year), more than 2,500 personnel files were digitized, and the office realized immediate supply savings (~$2,000) plus substantial time savings and improved recruiting and operational efficiency.
