A Laserfiche Case Study
Computerized Management Services, a medical management firm serving radiologists, faced a legacy paper problem: thousands of documents a day (reports, EOBs, credentialing and training files) arriving from more than 100 locations were stored in offsite boxes and filing cabinets, creating retrieval delays, misplaced files, manual data-entry bottlenecks and limited visibility into workflows.
Starting in 2006 they implemented Laserfiche in a phased rollout—using Quick Fields, Workflow, Import Agent and Snapshot—to automate capture, metadata extraction, auto-filing and routing, and to coordinate with their A-Life coding and CPU billing systems (via Laserfiche Entry IDs). The result: significantly faster processing and fewer bottlenecks—A-Life coding completes in about 24 hours and Laserfiche serves as a backup at 48–72 hours versus 5–10 days on paper—easier document retrieval, higher productivity and smoother, continuously improving workflows.
