Canadian Seed Growers’ Association Pioneers Digital-First Agriculture

CSGA, the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association, is a science-based non-profit that certifies pedigreed seed across Canada, but its paper-based, backlogged certification process was slowing work for thousands of growers and inspectors. Since 2014, CSGA has used Laserfiche, including Laserfiche Forms and business process automation, to modernize and speed up its seed certification operations.

Laserfiche helped CSGA launch the SeedCert online portal, digitizing application, review, and inspection workflows so inspectors could submit reports in the field and staff could respond faster. The results were significant: processing dropped from weeks to days, more than 16,000 to 20,000 annual applications are handled largely through Laserfiche, and over 1,000 workflows run in the background to support 23 inspection services and 250 inspectors.
