Lantronix Supports MIC in Development of Sickbay IoT Solution

Medical Informatics Corp. (MIC) needed to enable secure, remote patient monitoring by connecting legacy bedside medical equipment to their Sickbay platform. Their challenge was to find a secure connectivity solution that could bridge a major manufacturer's switch devices with the patients' monitors to share vital data beyond the bedside. To accomplish this, they turned to Lantronix for a solution.

Lantronix implemented its xDirect Serial-to-Ethernet Server, which provided the necessary secure, plug-and-play connectivity. This allowed MIC’s Sickbay platform to collect and transmit high-fidelity patient data in real-time. The results included the ability to remotely monitor up to 100 patients per command center, rapidly scale any hospital bed into a monitored ICU bed, and ultimately reduce exposure for medical professionals while improving care collaboration and outcomes.
