Lantronix Out-of-Band Solutions Power University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge, a collegiate research university, needed a secure and integrated Out-of-Band Management (OOBM) solution to remotely manage its critical network devices across multiple locations and reduce on-site visits. They challenged Lantronix to utilize their existing out-of-band fiber-optic network to enable remote setup, configuration, and troubleshooting from virtually anywhere via a secure cloud platform.

Lantronix implemented its ConsoleFlow cloud-based management platform and EMG 8500 edge management gateways. This integrated solution provided an end-to-end OOBM system, allowing the IT team to achieve maximum network uptime and facilitate remote troubleshooting from their repair vans. As a result, Lantronix's solutions became the sole OOBM devices and services on the university's dedicated network, delivering reliable remote management and secure integration.
