Lantronix FOX3 Gateway Drives LACOS Farm Equipment Telemetry

LACOS, a Germany-based provider of precision farming solutions, faced the challenge of reinventing how farm equipment is remotely controlled and tracked. Their goal was to eliminate paper logbooks and securely gather and share operational data online for their clients, who are farm equipment manufacturers. To achieve this, they turned to vendor Lantronix and its FOX3 Series telematics gateways.

The Lantronix solution involved installing FOX3 gateways in vehicles and using Bluetooth LE tags on implements. This provided LACOS with a cost-effective, market-ready prototype that accelerated their time to market. The results included intelligence at the edge for faster decision-making, significant cost reduction by not needing a telematics unit on every implement, and new data-driven applications for rental equipment management. Lantronix's technology enabled secure data sharing via web portals, giving farmers more precise control and eliminating paper logs.
