Humanware - Customer Case Study

HumanWare, a global leader in assistive technology for people with vision loss, faced the challenge of creating a small, handheld GPS and reader device. They needed a solution with an advanced user interface, excellent power management for long battery life, and the ability to be developed and brought to market quickly and affordably. To meet this challenge, they partnered with Lantronix to utilize its Open-Q 410 System on Module (SOM).

Lantronix provided its Open-Q 410 SOM, a production-ready module that offered a pre-certified computing solution to contain development costs. The solution included a transition to an open-source Linux platform for easier upgrades and integration, optimized power management for ultra-long battery life, and a large memory capacity. This partnership enabled HumanWare to quickly deliver a market-ready, durable prototype, significantly improving their speed to market and reducing overall product certification costs.
