eSight, an eyewear company, needed to create a functional and affordable wearable device to help individuals with severe visual impairments see. Their challenge involved integrating complex technologies like cameras, image processing, and high-definition screens into a comfortable headset. To meet these technical goals, eSight partnered with Lantronix and utilized its Engineering Services.

Lantronix developed a custom solution centered on customizing a Qualcomm processor. Their engineers integrated custom circuit boards and software to handle the necessary processing power, cameras, OLED displays, and connectivity. The result was the eSight device, which enables many users with low vision to achieve 20/20 visual acuity, allowing them to read, see faces, and live a more normal life. Lantronix also helped deliver benefits like a faster development cycle and speed to market.
