Lantek Saves Material at Jcb Cab Systems

JCB Cab Systems, a Rugeley-based supplier of cabs for JCB’s UK plants, needed to improve material efficiency amid a steel shortage while producing around 140 cabs a day and thousands of laser-cut parts each week. The company evaluated Lantek Expert for its ease of use and dynamic nesting capabilities to replace static nesting, which was simplifying production but wasting material.

Lantek implemented CAD/CAM 2D, manufacturing management, and operator job control and validation to support dynamic nesting, NC code generation, and tighter integration with SAP. The solution improved material utilisation on dynamically nested parts and helped automate production data flow, though it also increased shop-floor complexity; JCB Cab Systems now sees Lantek as a strategic part of its manufacturing process and continues working with Lantek on further automation and advanced nesting.
