Lantek Helps Mcconnel Cut Grass and Hedges Down To Size

McConnel, a manufacturer of hedge and verge mowing power arm technology, needed a way to handle a high volume of in-house cutting work efficiently across plasma and oxy-fuel machines. With thousands of parts in its database and weekly demand lists containing up to 4,000–5,000 parts, the company wanted a faster way to prepare nests, calculate cutting times and costs, and respond to design changes without always relying on the design office. Lantek Expert CAD/CAM 2D helped support this need.

Lantek implemented Lantek Expert to import SolidWorks DXF files, manage material and thickness data, and automatically nest parts for optimal sheet use across McConnel’s Kerf plasma and oxy-cutting equipment. The solution also provided time and weight calculations, helped optimize machine parameters, and supported new UltraSharp plasma technology, which enabled exact-size holes and reduced the need for drilling. Lantek also provided ongoing training and support, helping McConnel improve productivity and get better value from its cutting operations.
