Fracino, a Birmingham manufacturer of cappuccino and espresso coffee machines, wanted to bring its sheet metal production in house and support the move with reliable laser cutting software. It chose Lantek’s CAD/CAM solution, using Lantek Expert together with Lantek Flex3d SW to work with its SolidWorks and AutoCAD designs.

Lantek implemented the postprocessor, machine communication, setup, and test cuts for the Amada laser, then later customized the system to add special routines such as pre-piercing plastic-coated stainless steel and stopping between parts for first-off checks. The solution helped Fracino improve efficiency, achieve 80–90% material utilization, reduce waste through offcut reuse, and run production with the flexibility needed to make around 3,000 machines a year.
