Askon Demir Çelik, a leading steel service center in Turkey, faced the challenge of efficiently programming and managing its diverse fleet of 35 metal processing machines, which included various laser, plasma, and oxy-cut models from different manufacturers. To coordinate this mixed-technology environment and optimize material usage to reduce scrap, the company turned to vendor Lantek and implemented its Lantek Expert software.

The server-based Lantek Expert solution centralized all programming onto one system, allowing 20 engineers to share data and workloads flexibly. This provided Askon Demir with the ability to easily move jobs between different machines to meet changing production demands. Most importantly, Lantek's advanced automatic nesting technology delivered minimum scrap and increased productivity by optimizing material usage, including the ability to nest parts on irregular remnants, which resulted in reduced costs and increased profit for the customer.
