PTA Plastics, represented by IT Support Technician Kevin Coleman, needed a reliable way to prioritize workstation and device replacements across two sites with mixed device ages and varied workloads. Using Lansweeper’s asset inventory and reporting capabilities, Kevin sought an objective, data-driven list to guide limited purchase budgets rather than relying on subjective user complaints.
Kevin customized a Lansweeper SQL report (the Asset Purchase Priority Report), adding filters for CPU, memory, purchase date and IP location so he could focus on the machines he manages and those with the weakest specs for intensive tasks. The Lansweeper-based report can be exported to Excel, cut the time previously spent guessing purchase priorities, removed subjectivity from decisions, and gave Kevin clear, defensible recommendations for which systems to replace first.
