American Community College, a large multi-site community college, was preparing for the semester and using SCCM to image and deploy Windows 10 and software when the Westminster Distribution Point stopped responding and machines failed to PXE boot. With only a MAC address to go on and many switch stacks to search, the IT team turned to Lansweeper — which regularly scans switch stacks and provides built-in network reports — to help pinpoint the device.

Using Lansweeper’s scheduled switch-stack scans and the “Built-in Network Report - Computer: MAC Address List,” the team filtered by the MAC address, located the offending register in the bookstore, and had it disconnected.
