New Mexico School for the Deaf helps keep students engaged at home with LanSchool

New Mexico School for the Deaf (NMSD), a school serving students ages 18 months to 21 years, needed a way to keep learning going when the pandemic forced classes off campus and into a mixed-device remote environment. The school had already used LanSchool for years in its labs and on shared devices, but it now needed a cloud-based classroom management solution that could travel with students and help teachers stay connected and in control at home.

NMSD deployed the cloud-based version of LanSchool, giving teachers screen visibility, chat, Blank Screen, and Push Website tools to manage remote lessons more effectively. The transition was described as easy, teachers adapted quickly, and the school reported improved student test scores in some areas, especially reading and writing. Even after returning to in-person learning, New Mexico School for the Deaf continued using LanSchool, and staff said they felt prepared to shift back to distance learning if needed.
