A LanguageLine Case Study
Partnership Health Center (PHC) serves vulnerable communities, including refugees, in Missoula, Montana. A significant challenge was ensuring these patients, who often have limited English proficiency, could effectively navigate and access the complex healthcare and social service systems. To overcome this language barrier, PHC turned to vendor LanguageLine for its on-demand professional interpretation service.
LanguageLine provided PHC with immediate access to interpretation in over 240 languages. This solution allowed community health workers to seamlessly communicate with patients, facilitating appointments and helping them obtain medications and services. The implementation of LanguageLine's services supported a broader community health worker program, which has improved health outcomes and realized significant cost savings through preventative care, ultimately helping refugees and other vulnerable patients get the care they need.
