Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks worked with Landis+Gyr to support its clean, green energy goals and engage customers who were generating their own renewable power. The utility needed an import-export prepayment metering solution that could measure both electricity consumed and electricity produced from home renewables such as solar PV and wind, while reinforcing its sustainability message.

Landis+Gyr designed and supplied a customized green plastic-cased import-export meter integrated into an AMM system and paired with its prepayment functionality. The solution was rolled out for micro-generation customers, with around 5,000 meters installed and reported full satisfaction from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks and end-users, while also helping promote responsible energy use and lower carbon emissions.
