Scotland County Schools Migrates and Images PCs Remotely

Scotland County Schools, a North Carolina district with 3,000 PCs across 14 locations, needed to modernize its IT environment by migrating from Novell to Windows and simplifying a complex imaging process. With limited staff and dozens of hardware models, the district faced months of manual work, travel, and risk of human error. LANDESK was selected as the vendor to help automate the migration and imaging process.

Using LANDESK Management Suite and LANDESK Patch Manager, the district remotely automated OS migration, patching, and reimaging from a central location. Scotland County Schools completed one school per day instead of up to seven days manually, saved $69,360 in conversion labor, reduced its IT headcount from seven to five, and achieved an ROI in 1.3 years. LANDESK also helped replace 40 hardware-dependent images with two hardware-independent ones, contributing to up to $200,000 in annual savings.
